About Megan

MEGAN LIM is a passionate storyteller who has been committed to the craft for over a decade now, writing about and editing all that pertains to entertainment, lifestyle and food.

These days, she's a Freelance Features and News Writer for Static Media's Chowhound, where she has over 100 articles and counting to back up her self-proclaimed foodie title. So you can always find her at the most popular restaurant and grocery chains, scouting for something to eat, critique and share with other food court connoisseurs. (Hint: nine times out of ten, you can bet she's stalking the sweets aisle ... for research purposes, of course.) And when you're done reading up on her pieces about Trader Joe's must-haves or Guy Fieri's go-to eateries, head over to her TikTok to keep up with more of her latest food-driven escapades and traveling side quests.

Equal to Megan's love for grub is her long-time admiration for the arts and life itself, which she finds equally fulfilling to explore as she does a quality roll of sushi. It was as early on as high school that she learned to communicate her interest for the things happening around her by combining it with her affinity for writing. So she became Editor-in-Chief of the school newsletter, covering what any blooming teen would deem worthy -- a.k.a. school dances and the latest wins on the field, because what else could be more important at 17 years old?

Writing about formals and homecoming games eventually turned into reviewing mainstream media, going behind the scenes of student productions and interviewing artists as Entertainment Editor for the campus newspaper during her time at Montclair State University, where Megan zeroed in on an entertainment beat to refine her niche as an award-winning journalism student. This was done in conjunction with spearheading a staff of contributing writers by ensuring proper workflow and revising articles each day.

Megan also critiqued a number of live performances across The Garden State, such as "Tootsie" and "A Christmas Story: The Musical," for her internship with NJArts. An honorable mention goes to her coverage of Circus Vazquez because it was while watching in-your-face dance troupes and flying trapeze artists that she learned the privilege of an entertainment journalist: to witness the many forms of art, a beautifully subjective, limitless concept, and freely write about it afterward with no wrong answers.

Inspired to balance responsibilities as well as the circus performer she watched walk a tightrope, Megan also served as President + Editor-in-Chief of Her Campus Montclair. It's there that she expressed her zeal for all things lifestyle, whether that meant offering style tips no one asked for or sharing the impact of her faith. And to round it out, she acted as a Freelance News Writer for NorthJersey.com, engaging with community leaders and reporting on events in Paterson, N.J.

In her free time, Megan is exactly what her 2024 Spotify Wrapped crowned her: a Pink Pilates Princess. This means she balances out all that eating by prioritizing weekly mat pilates and yoga classes while Sabrina Carpenter plays on a loop in her head.
